Robert “Bob” J. Grossinger, 80, of South Haven, passed away on Tuesday July 7, 2026, at his home of natural causes.
Bob was born on November 4, 1945 at the Meeker County Hospital in Litchfield, Minn., to Edwin and Irene (Gabrelcik) Grossinger. After high school Bob started working for the Soo Line Railroad. He then worked a few other places in the metro area before returning to the Soo Line which later became Canadian Pacific. He mostly worked East of Loretto to West of Paynesville and as far north as Noyes and Lancaster, Minn., doing track maintenance and repair as laborer and foreman. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing Euchre.
Bob is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Cheryl, sons, James (Jennifer), Craig (Laura) and Scott (Tamara), daughter, Sandy (Kevin) Schreince, sister, Betty (Jim) Maly of Nashwauk, brothers, Dale of Watkins and Richard of Annandale, sister-in-law, Nancy, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, brothers, Donald, Willard and Ralph, and sister-in-law, Judi Grossinger.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday July 24, at the Kimball Legion from 1 to 3:30 p.m., with a luncheon being served.
