Alvin C. Speigner

Alvin Charles Speigner, 80, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at Meeker Manor in Litchfield, Minnesota under hospice care.

Alvin was born in Watertown, Minnesota on Feb. 2, 1945, to August and Verna (Hasse) Speigner. He graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1963. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he, his parents and sister began farming in 1964. Alvin operated a cattle hoof trimming business from 1970 to 2000. He was well known in the hoof trimming community and enjoyed several trips to hoof trimming seminars in various states.

Through his study of the Bible, Alvin came to appreciate the promise of a paradise earth that would come about by means of God’s Kingdom. He recognized that the Lord’s Prayer was an important part of God’s purpose for the future. Alvin was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in July 1988. He actively shared what he had learned about God’s Kingdom and the coming Paradise earth.

Alvin enjoyed Jehovah God’s creation, visiting state parks with his friends. An annual event that he rarely missed was the Wright County Fair. His day would begin with the senior lunch, then listen to entertainment, tour the animal barns, look at the garden produce, the tractors and vintage farm equipment. Even as his health problems increased, Alvin would demonstrate how many pull-ups he could do. The day would end with a Gyros sandwich for supper.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, sister Evangeline, brother-in-law Dick Olson, and a nephew.

He is survived by six nieces, extended family members, and many friends.

Thank you to St. Croix hospice for their loving care.
