Shirley A. Klein, age 81, of South Haven, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, shortly after a cancer diagnosis.
A private burial will take place at Fairhaven Cemetery in Fairhaven Township near South Haven.
Shirley Klein was a beloved wife and a cherished mother and grandmother. She was born on May 1, 1943, to George and Viola (Markwardt) Miller. She grew up in South Haven, was baptized and confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven, and graduated with the Class of 1961 from Annandale High School. On June 4, 1966, she was married to Ronald Klein in Watkins. They lived in Richfield before retiring to South Haven in 2008. Shirley worked for the Richfield School District, filling many roles for the schools over the years.
During her time on this earth, Shirley found solace in the beauty of nature, spending countless hours tending to her garden and delighting in the sights and sounds of birds. She also found great joy in the company of her friends and family. One of her favorite pastimes was the annual trips she took to Branson with her husband, Ron.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Ron; sons, James of Eagan and Jeffrey (Jackie) of Forest Lake; granddaughters, McKenna and Stephanie; brother, Larry (Karen) Miller of Mesa, Arizona; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
