Michael Thomas Hedlund, age 72, of St. Cloud died Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 16, at 3 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel, and the interment of the urn will be held at Sunset Cemetery in South Haven. There will be a time to gather with family one hour prior to the service at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel. The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is in charge of the memorial arrangements. Michael Thomas Hedlund, the son of Lawrence and Eleanor (Rhode) Hedlund, was born on August 10, 1949, in St. Cloud. Michael attended district schooling before he attended Litchfield High School. Michael was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. On May 27, 1969, Michael was inducted into the United States Marine Corps where he served until May 25, 1971. Upon being discharged, Michael moved back to the Kingston, French Lake, and South Haven areas where he had been employed as a plumber for Hedlund Plumbing and Heating. He had also been employed at French Lake Auto Parts and Windy Hill Auto Parts in New London. He is survived by his son, Thomas Hedlund of Dassel, siblings, Marcus (Margaret) Hedlund of Plymouth, Gary Hedlund of Sun City, Arizona and Terri Doering and her special friend Greg of Goodyear, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence, and Eleanor Hedlund and one brother, Larry Hedlund.
