Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Olson, age 93, of Annandale, passed away on Monday, Dec. 13 in Cottonwood, Minnesota. Elizabeth Ann Olson was born on June 5, 1928, in rural Annandale, Minnesota to Frederick F. and Annie D. (Carlson) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale, of which she was a lifelong member, and graduated from Annandale High School in 1946. She lived all but the last eight months of her life in Annandale. Elizabeth worked at Lakedale Telephone Company for many years and then worked for American Family Insurance up until her retirement. Elizabeth loved to travel and always looked forward to her annual vacations with her sister, Helen. They visited many sites across the country and took their nieces and nephew along on special trips when they were children. She enjoyed reading and had a number of favorite authors. Elizabeth loved cars and driving; she drove well into her late 80’s and was sad when she could no longer drive her beloved red Jeep. She loved shopping, jewelry, her purses, and having her hair and nails done. Elizabeth was involved with the Christian Women’s Club and Sewing Club. She enjoyed visits from family, especially her great-great nephews and great-great niece. Her apartment was decorated with drawings from Grady, Greta, and Brett. She is survived by her sister, Barbara J. Crouse of Cottonwood; her brother-in-law, Howard Rotsolk of Annandale; her niece, Carol (Greg) Bossuyt of Cottonwood and their children, Jared (Tessa) Bossuyt and their children Grady and Greta of Clarkfield, MN, Parry (Ginny) Bossuyt and their son, Brett of Cottonwood, and Jory (Kylie) Bossuyt of La Crosse, WI; her nephew, Curt (Karen) Crouse of Rosemount, MN and their children, Carleen Crouse of St. Paul, Olivia (Johan Fullard Tellez) Crouse Tellez of Minneapolis, and Mallory (Jake Beaver) Crouse of Irvine, CA; her niece, Cathie (Dan) Bueltel of Minneota, MN and their children, Dylan Fenger of Brooklyn Center, MN and Quinn Fenger of St Paul; and her niece, Carin (Mark) Engler and their children Madison and Mason Engler of Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Helen L. Olson and Virginia M. Rotsolk, and her brother-in-law Robert L. Crouse. Her family is extremely grateful for the wonderful care she received while living at Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Cottonwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Elizabeth’s memory to the St. John’s Cemetery Fund in Annandale, MN or to Prairie Home Fieldcrest in Cottonwood, MN. Services for Elizabeth will be on Saturday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service all at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale, MN.
