Clinton C. Fladland, 97, of St. Cloud passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Atonement Lutheran Church, St. Cloud. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud and an hour before the service on Friday at the church. Interment will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers and will be donated to Clint's favorite charities.
Clint is survived by his children, John (Debby) of Adairsville, Georgia; Mary Raduenz of Plymouth; Jim of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Vicki (Steve) Hoien of Annandale; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine "Rae"; sisters, Alpha Swanson and Adeline Coulter.
Clint was born on July 24, 1921, in Forest Lake to Johannes and Emma (Danielson) Fladland. He served for 10 years with the United States Marine Corps as a fighter pilot in Guam during World War II and later in the Reserves during the Korean War.
Clint graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1948 with a B.S. in Law and was an active member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He married Lorraine L. "Rae" Larson on June 4, 1949.
Clint and Rae lived in Forest Lake for most of their married lives, later moving to Becker and then St Cloud. He spent most of his career as the Executive Director of the Minnesota Lathing and Plastering Bureau in St. Paul. After his retirement, Clint enjoyed volunteering, golfing, travelling, fishing and spending time with friends and family.
