Lois J. Winger, 64, of South Haven died Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale. The Life Tribute Celebrant officiating at the service will be Brian Dingmann. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Remer at a later date. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
Lois is survived by her husband, Pete; children, Deanna Winger (John) of Waite Park, Nina (Daniel) Alcox of St. Cloud, Jennifer (Nate) Mettling of Zimmerman, Tony (Luda) Miller of Litchfield and Trevor (Alana) Winger of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Kayla, Austin, Matthew, Tiffany, Abbigayl, Isabella, Aidan, Brooklyn, Austin, Raychel, Nathan and Payton; great grandchildren Olivia, Gabriella, Bryson and Addison; brothers, Marlin Engholm of Duluth and Roger (Hoa) Engholm of Rochester; and sisters, Linda Engholm of Duluth and Janice Gustafson of Brainerd.
Lois Jane Winger was born Jan. 11, 1953, in Brainerd to Albert Engholm and Betty Hanson. At the age of twelve, Lois was placed in the loving care of her foster parents, Edna and Adolph Zumbrunnen. She graduated from Pequot Lakes High School with the Class of 1972. On Oct. 18, 1972, she was united in marriage to Wilfred "Pete" Winger in Remer. They moved to Annandale in 1982 and was blessed with five children then later moved to South Haven in 1998. After her children all left the home, she worked for Minnesota Meat Masters in Annandale for four years. Lois enjoyed doing word-finds, making bead calendars, watching her favorite TV shows, spending time with family and friends and going to rummage sales.
