Marjorie Maurer, 81
Died Friday, Nov. 3, 2017

Marjorie Maurer, 81, of South Haven died peacefully at her home on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017.

Visitation was held Monday, Nov. 6, at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date in the Main Prairie Cemetery.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Judy (and Dave) Rieck of Angleton Texas, Reinhardt "Porky" (and Sandy) Maurer of Fair Haven, Kenny (and Merry) Maurer of Hackensack, Mike (and Terri) Maurer of Fair Haven, Frank (and Janice) Maurer of Rogers and Dave (and Kim) Maurer of Fair Haven; many grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Floyd; grandchildren, Tony, Brad, Austin and Chrissy.

Marjorie May Maurer, the daughter of Henry and Irene (Cloutier) Erdman, was born on May 9, 1936, in Winsted. She grew up in Winsted and attended school there. On Oct. 17, 1953, she was united in marriage to Floyd Maurer at the Baptist church in Fair Haven. They made there home near South Haven. She was a devoted home maker and enjoyed her full-time job raising her six children. Marjorie also worked for a short time at Carlson Dolls, as a seamstress, and cleaning JJ's Bar. Marjorie loved to cook, not only for her family but for anyone who would enjoy her food. She also enjoyed her, almost daily, trips to the grocery store and visiting with people there. On her way home she would drive around and look at deer and birds. Marjorie raised duck, geese and chickens. Many family and friends were "invited" to help clean 300 birds every year. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
