Robert J. Bluhm
Robert J. Bluhm, 84, of Annandale, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at his home.
A funeral service was held at on Friday, Aug. 15, at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater. Burial was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lorraine; children Gregory (Cindy Ann) of Clearwater, Cindy (Lyle) Landowski of Buffalo, Cathy Carlson of Butterfield; grandchildren: Adam and Alicia (AJ), Joseph (Bridget) and Jessica, Donald (Abigail) and Deanna (Matthew); great-grandchildren Olivia, Kennedy, and one on the way; brother Alvin; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eugene.
Bob was born on April 20, 1930, in Kerkhoven, to Frank and Martha (Marquardt) Bluhm. Bob married Lorraine Johnson on July 19, 1952, in California. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and received the Purple Heart during the Korean conflict. After discharge, Bob and Lorraine moved to Minneapolis in 1954, where Bob attended the Minnesota School of Business and received his degree in accounting. In 1975, Bob built their dream home in rural Annandale. He worked in the accounting field until he retired in 1995. He returned to part-time work in 2000, retiring again in 2009. Bob used his accounting skills as treasurer of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association and church. Bob enjoyed hobby farming, by raising poultry, pigs, and crops. Bob and Lorraine enjoyed traveling with family and friends. He was active in the men's Bible study at Rejoice Lutheran Church. Bob enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities and trying his luck at numerous casinos.
