William H. Arlt
William Henry Arlt passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in Aurora, Colo. Memorial service were held May 17 in Colorado.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sylvia; daughter, Teresa (Barry) Bradshaw of Parker, Colo.; son, William of Elk River; sister, Alyce (Henry) Hoting of Wilmar; sister-in-law, Mary Arlt of Minneapolis; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edna Arlt, brother, Arnon, sister, Doris Kiekow and brother-in-law, Allen Kiekow.
William was born May 20, 1933, in St. Paul. Bill attended school in South Haven and Annandale, graduating from Annandale High School in 1951. He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. He and Sylvia were married June 2, 1963. Together they raised their daughter and son. They lived in the Minneapolis area, Cokato, Brainerd and Crosby before moving to Parker, Colo.
He was a foreman with Trucking Incorporated and a baker until his retirement. On April 22, 1973, Bill was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He served as an elder in the Brainerd congregation where he always enjoyed teaching and helping others in the congregation.
Bill was a quiet and reserved person, a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He, Sylvia and the family enjoyed fishing, camping and playing cards. Bill truly treasured the time he spent with his family and friends.
