DeWane M. Kjaer
DeWane M. Kjaer, 72, of South Haven died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
A service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Willow Creek Park Lions' Pavilion, Kimball, with a Celebration of Life to follow. Memorials are preferred to Alzheimer's research.
He is survived by his wife, Dodie of South Haven; mother, Mae of West Fargo; children, Annette (Tom) Haigh of Santa Ana, Calif., Darin (Tonja) of Foreston, Dale (Kristin) of Meridian, Idaho and Dana (Lara) of South Haven; grandchildren, Jake, Jessie, Emily, Abbie, Brooke, Nate, Zach, Sammy, Mae, Anna, Peter, Arthur and Julia; sisters, Camilla (Bruce) Weiss of Mesa, Ariz. and Deborah Knopp of Maple Lake; brothers Steven (Renee) of Sabin and Timothy (Rhonda) of Burkburnett, Texas; brothers-in-law, Rudell (Judith) Wicklander of Hugo, Lee Wicklander (Lisa Foust) of Grand Rapids, Randy Wicklander of Maple Lake and Vern (Laurie) Wicklander of New Prague; and sister-in-law, Elna (Loren) Lendobeja of Thief River Falls.
He was preceded in death by his father, Orville; brother, Danny; mother-in-law, Anna Wicklander; father-in-law, Ernest Wicklander; and step father-in-law, John Aronson.
DeWane Marlin Kjaer was born April 26, 1942, in Grimstad Township near Wannaska to Orville and Mae (Rasmussen) Kjaer. He graduated from Roseau High School with the Class of 1960.
On April 13, 1963, he was united in marriage to Aldora "Dodie" Wicklander at Moe Lutheran Church in Roseau. They owned and operated D&D Concessions for the past 25 years. DeWane was a wholesale appliance salesman; covering Minnesota and North Dakota for over 20 years. He enjoyed classic Fords, snowmobiling, four wheeling, boating, fishing, hunting and spending time at the camp. DeWane cherished the time he spent with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
