Tamara S. Steffes
Obituary

Tamara Sue Steffes (Smith), 50, of Coon Rapids and formerly St. Cloud area passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013.

Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 6, at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Chapel, St. Cloud. Jim Erickson will lead the service and a private burial will take place at a later time.

Tammy is survived by her children Tom Steffes, Phoenix; Tiffany Steffes, Coon Rapids; parents Stanley and Joyce Smith, Kingston; siblings Todd (Kim) Smith, St. Cloud; Terry (Tom) Smith, Edina; Troy (Janice) Smith, Kingston; Tanya (Jared) Dahnke, St. Cloud; and step-children Eric Steffes, Phoenix; and Gina Steffes, Phoenix.

She was preceded in death by ex-husband Larry Steffes, and grandparents Norman and Harriet Smith, and Roy and Lempi Myllykangas.

Tamara was born July 14, 1963, to Stanley and Joyce (Myllykangas) Smith in Litchfield.  She grew up in the Kimball area and after graduation from high school moved to St. Cloud. She married Larry Steffes on Aug. 27, 1988, and soon after moved to Coon Rapids where she spent nearly the rest of her life. Tammy was a gifted musician which she portrayed through her love of playing the piano. She was also known for her talents as a cook and gardener. Tammy worked as a waitress for a large part of her life serving at such places as Perkins, Bakers Square, and IHOP. What she was most proud of in her life, however, were her children whom which she loved dearly.
