Julia A. Weidner
Julia Weidner, 96, of Annandale, formerly of Shreveport, La., died peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2013, at the Annandale Care Center.
A prayer service was Friday, May 17, at the Annandale Care Center Chapel, Annandale, with Pastor Luke Baehr officiating. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. May 29, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Shreveport, La., with The Rev. Paul Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport. Friends may call one half hour prior to the funeral service, Wednesday, May 29 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth "Betsy" Weidner of Annandale; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Lara and Dana Kjaer of South Haven; and her great grandchildren Arthur and Julia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Louise Day; and sisters Marjorie Lincoln and Jean Wilson.
Julia Ann Morgan Weidner was born May 21, 1916, in Greeley, Colo., to John and Lulu (Davidson) Morgan. She graduated from Greeley High School in June 1934; she went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. On June 5, 1937, she was united in marriage to Carl Birch Weidner. Julia was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a wonderful friend and neighbor. Julia was caring, joyful and strong and rarely complained.
