Ray J. Hayes
Ray J. Hayes, 86, of rural Buffalo, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, May 14, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Buffalo, and interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Buffalo.
Ray was born on June 28, 1926, in Maple Lake Township, Wright County, to Paul and Mary (Marquette) Hayes. He was employed at Twin City Monorail, retiring after 22 years. On June 9, 1956, he married Rosealice Scott at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale. Ray's favorite past times were gardening, yard work, playing at pool tournaments, playing cards at the community center and playing his weekly card game with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Rosealice of Buffalo; children Alice (Steve) Welter of Almena, Wis., Paul Hayes of Buffalo, Mary (Dave) Odden of Buffalo, Jane (Fred Knowles) Maurer of South Haven, Linda (Bob) Faue of Buffalo, Scott (Trish Muller) Hayes of Maple Lake; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother, Earl, infant brother, Edwin and twin brother, Roy.
