James A. Olson
James A. Olson, 67, of Annandale died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at his home.
Memorial services were held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Dave Nelson officiating and interment at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale, and at the church one hour prior to services.
He is survived by his wife Julie Ann of Annandale; sons John of Grand Forks, N.D., Josh of Colorado and Montana; sister-in-law Susan Olson of Red Lake Falls; Julie's parents Norman and Rosalie Stromstad of Bismarck, N.D.; brothers- and sisters-in-law John and Judy Stromstad of Bismarck, N.D., Jeff and Kathy Stromstad of Mandan, N.D., Mark and Jane Lynne of Batavia, Ill.
His parents and brother Stephen preceded him in death.
James Andrew Olson was born April 1, 1945, at Drayton, N.D., to Fritjof and Jane (Kadlec) Olson. He graduated from Lafayette High School, Red Lake Falls, in 1963 and in 1969 from Bemidji State University. Jim served in the U.S. Army, Fourth Armored Division in Germany, and taught science at Annandale High School from 1969-2004. He married Julie Ann Stromstad on Aug. 5, 1972, in Bismarck, N.D. He was a member of Southbrook Golf Club and enjoyed golf, tennis, pinochle, and time spent with his boys.
