Bernadette B. Johnson, 66, of Annandale died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo.
Memorial services were Monday, Feb. 4, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. Deacon Ronald Freeman was the officiant and Brian Johnson gave the eulogy.
Bernie is survived by her husband Ron; sons Brian and his wife Melissa of Big Lake and Keola of Ningbo, China; grandchildren Noah and Malia Johnson; brothers and sister Harry of Spokane, Wash., Violet (Conrad) Nathaniel of Hilo, Hawaii, and Frank (Cheryl) Nathaniel of San Antonio, Texas; and sister-in-law Betty Nathaniel of Honolulu, Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Katherine Nathaniel and brother, Richard Nathaniel.
Bernadette Betty Johnson was born Jan. 21, 1947, in Hilo, Hawaii, to Harry and Katherine (Nascimento) Nathaniel. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in Hilo with the class of 1965. On March 11, 1972, she was united in marriage to Ronald Allan Johnson at Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church in Honolulu, Hawaii. Bernie worked as a cosmetologist at Honolulu Salon for seven years and as a para-professional at Annandale schools for 20 years. She enjoyed taking trips to Hawaii, spoiling her grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends.
