Hubert A. Reimer
Hubert A. Reimer, 93, of Annandale passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013. Funeral services were held at Church of St. Ignatius Thursday, Jan. 10. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. He is survived by children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Hub was preceded by wife, Marlene.
Hub was born in Stewart on Feb. 28, 1919, along with twin brother Herb and as one of 14 children. He attended Catholic grade school in Stewart. Hub served in World War II in the Army in Tunisia and Southern France. He married Marlene Belford in 1956. He had four children, Gary, Jane, Patricia and Steven. He worked in Minneapolis until retirement. He moved to Annandale from Minneapolis. He then worked at Willet Campground and Timberwoods Resort near Annandale for over 20 years as a caretaker. When his health began to fail he moved from the Oakdale Apartment to the Annandale Care Center in December 2011. Hub enjoyed hunting, playing cards, reading, faithfully attending church, following the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, playing bingo at Tootsies and Oakdale Apartments, having morning coffee at the Marketplace, fishing on Lake Augusta and Clearwater Lake and visiting with his many friends at his campsite on Lake Augusta.
